Twenty-eight beautiful dolls, each one smaller than the next, depicting Russian fairytales. All are incredibly beautifully decorated with gold, and painted with scenes from A.S. Pushkin's fairytales and Russian folktales: The Tale of Tsar Saltan, The Tale of the Golden Cockerel, The Princess Frog, Prince Ivan, Vasilisa the Beautiful, The Firebird, The Scarlet Flower and Sivka Burka. The back of the matryoshkas feature a magnificent bright apron with a colored pattern, done in the style of the famous Pavlov Posad craftsmen.
